A COMMUNITY
BUILT AROUND FAMILY,
BY GENERATIONS OF FAMILY.
The land on which the MayWood Community stands is rooted in rich history. The May and Wood families once owned the farm and that is where the name has originated. During the Civil War, the farm was used for the troops to camp during the Battle of Perryville. A beautiful brick home once stood at the end of an avenue off of Springfield Road. Cam Blincoe purchased the farm in 1949 and began to purchase adjacent properties to bring the farm to 500 acres. The historic home had fallen into disrepair, but the bricks were used on the Blincoe family home that sits at the front of the subdivision.
Cam and Christine raised 4 kids there along with a herd of Championship Brangus cattle. The family decided to get out of the cattle business and that is when the MayWood subdivision and Golf course began in 1994. It has become a premiere place for families with golf, swimming, tennis, and even a restaurant! Come visit us and see for yourself what a great place MayWood is to raise a family.
